Potlatch Growers' Group Green Gardening Seminar - Sunday, May 18, 2008: 3:00pm-5:00pm
Location: Scenic 6 Railroad Depot, Potlatch, ID
The Potlatch Growers Group will hold a seminar on green gardening on May 18th! It will cover topics such as companion planting, composting, organic pest control, water-wise gardening, and more. The seminar is free and all are welcome. Come to share your ideas and knowledge or just to learn! Bring your friends and neighbors. Grow Your Own Herbal Medicine - Sunday, May 18, 2008: 10:00am-1:00pm
Location: Sequioa's house and garden, Moscow
Herbs offer a wealth of benefits. This class will cover starting herbs from seed, the ecological niche certain herbs grow best in, when and how to harvest them, and what they are used for. Participants will take home notes, seeds, and plants. We will focus on Comfrey and Calendula in this class, but many herbs will be discussed and shown.
Instructor: K. Sequoia Ladd is a community herbalist with nearly 15 years of holistic counseling behind her. She is passionate about using organic, local plants, and wildcrafts. She also grows about 90% of the botanical medicine she uses. She infuses her herbal practice with permaculture principles to keep the focus preventative, simple, and sustainable.

PCEI Membership Appreciation Day - Friday, May 23, 2008: 5:30pm-8:30pm
Location: Patty's Mexican Kitchen, 450 W 6th St., Moscow, ID
Join PCEI for a fun evening full of great food and live music on May 23rd! This is an event to celebrate 22 years of "connecting people, place, and community" by the Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute. We're growing up so fast! The $12 cost for the public and $10 for PCEI members will include a meat/veggie plate, salad, rice, and beans, a pint of Mirror Pond Summer Ale or a soda, PCEI door prizes, and a PCEI program/Nature Center update. We hope to see you there!

Gettin’ Buggy! - Saturday, May 31, 2008: 10:00am-12:00pm
Location: PCEI Rodeo Campus, 1040 Rodeo Dr.
Take a fresh look at the creepy crawlies in your backyard! This day will be full of adventure for you and your family. We will go on a voyage through the eyes of an insect, explore insects unique qualities, and actually collect and observe some of the creatures living in the TerraGraphics wetlands at PCEI. Expect to get a little dirty and crafty while gaining a fresh perspective on bugs. Please contact Courtney Rush if you are interested in joining us for this great day. The program cost for a family is $12 for non-members and $8 for members. All ages invited.

Palouse Weed Walk - Sunday, June 8, 2008: 8:30 to 11:30am
Location: Chipman Trail, starting in Pullman
What: a free workshop to visit a piece of native Palouse land and to learn about the invasive species that are moving in.
Where: Meet at the Pullman trailhead for the Chipman trail. Parking adjacent to the trail in the parking lot by the Quality Inn on Bishop Boulevard.
What to Bring: weather appropriate clothes,sun block, water bottle, and walking shoes
