Little Roots Playgroup
All families with young children are welcome to join us for relaxed nature play time and exploring the Palouse Nature Center in a variety of seasons. Some weeks we will read stories or have guest leaders under the covered Pavilion or in the Greenhouse together before heading to the play areas or exploring the trails, and some weeks people will just meet at the playground behind the Greenhouse. On rainy or extra chilly days, we may meet in the Greenhouse. Stay, play, and picnic as long as you’d like!

Relax with Cedar Grove Yoga
Join Cedar Grove Yoga for an evening of relaxation. They’ll meet Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm through October in either the Pavilion or the Greenhouse (weather determined), and then they’ll be back practicing at PCEI again in the spring.
From Cedar Grove:
Stillness in the middle of it all.
Step away from the busyness and come find a place to pause.
This midweek practice is your opportunity to pause, reset, and realign. Through mindful movement, intentional breath, and grounding stillness, we’ll reconnect with what’s steady and true—within ourselves and in the present moment.
Each class is designed to meet you where you are. Whether you arrive feeling scattered, energized, or somewhere in between, you’ll leave feeling more centered, spacious, and restored.
Come as you are. Let the mat be your place to return to presence, right in the heart of your week.

Scrap Metal Drive
In celebration of World Sustainability Day, we invite you to clear out your unneeded scrap metal and raise money for PCEI!
Sutton Salvage will be bringing a large container to the Nature Center, and the public is welcome to drop off unwanted scrap metal anytime dawn to dusk on Saturday, October 25th or Sunday, October 26th. Staff and volunteers will be available for much of that time to help unload the metal. Or, you’re welcome to just toss it in the bin!
Acceptable items include: aluminum, brass, tin, copper, stainless steel, appliances, electric motors, auto and equipment parts, iron/steel radiators, and more! For a full list of what is accepted, visit suttonsalvage.com.
Sutton Salvage is generously waiving the metal processing fee, so the value of all metal will be donated to PCEI!
The container will be located next to the green barn at the Palouse Nature Center, 1040 Rodeo Drive in Moscow.

Summer Yoga in the Pavilion
We are grateful to Erin Mack, who reached out to offer yoga in the Pavilion after hearing about the recent AmeriCorps cuts and the impact on PCEI. She is generously donating all proceeds from her classes to us—wow! 🌟 Summer yoga classes will be held weekly on Saturday mornings from 9:00-10:00am, and will run through the end of September. The suggested donation is $10-$20/class, and can be paid with cash or check, through Venmo, or online at pcei.org/donate.
Erin has been practicing yoga for about 20 years, and is a certified teacher. On the Saturdays she isn’t available, other teachers will step in to lead class. There’s something magical about practicing yoga outside in nature, so join us for one or all of the Saturdays this summer! No registration is needed, just drop in anytime with a yoga mat (and props if you have them). Many thanks, Erin! 🧘
